Responsible (or Impact) investing has entered mainstream terminology for the millennial generation looking to make their mark on our planet. Creating entrepreneurial solutions, organizing communities, and doing business with companies exhibiting sustainable practices are paramount to garnering support of this demographic.
In response to this movement, Heartland Capital Strategies and the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor & the Working Poor at Georgetown University are thrilled to announce year 3 of the Labor Capital Strategies Fellowship.
With the Class of 2019, the Fellowship continues to educate new generations of capital stewards and responsible investor creating a diverse pipeline for investors and the corporate governance community.
Fellows from previous classes have reported that the program helped them develop their own view of the challenges facing working families in the modern economy and the roles of responsible investing and good corporate governance in solving these challenges.
Dr. Joseph McCartin from KI notes:
"The Kalmanovitz Initiative is delighted to partner with Heartland Capital Strategies and our placement hosts to provide this exciting entry-level internship into the world of pro-worker finance. These interns will go on to careers that help build a more just and sustainable world."
Candidates from the pool of nearly 50 applicants came from Georgetown, Tufts, Fordham, Wesleyan, Boston, CUNY, and as far away as San Diego State and Nebraska. Below are the Fellows who will complete the 8-week program starting the first week of June with our Heartland sponsors.
We are proud to continue this partnership with Dr. McCartin and the outstanding staff of the Kalmanovitz Initiative.
