For They Are Jolly Good Fellows: LCS Fellowship Class of 2019

When we first dreamed up the idea of the Heartland Labor Capital Strategies Summer Fellowship at Georgetown University in 2016, our newly constituted advisory group was excited yet anxious about the prospect of whether college-age students would have an interest in responsible investing and good corporate governance.

Here we are 3 years later celebrating our third graduating class of eleven fellows - the largest yet! This special issue of the Expresso features the experience our Fellows had over the summer and testimonials of how the program influenced their career moving forward.

We want to congratulate our graduating class and commend you for your remarkable accomplishments over the summer. Our Fellowship partners want you to know that we look forward to further engaging with you in the future and we are here to provide continuing career advice, and more importantly, good job opportunities!

A tremendous thank you to our Heartland co-chairs Steve Sleigh and Debbie Nisson, and our partners, the Kalmanovitz Initiative at Georgetown University - particularly Juan Belman, Jessica Chilin, Dawn Carpenter, and Dr. Joe McCartin.

The program would also not be possible if not for our generous sponsors and welcoming hosts: KPS, AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, Blue Wolf, Change to Win, GCM Grosvenor, Hamilton Lane, LiUNA, Segal Marco, Stellex, Sterling Organization, Teamsters, and Ullico as well as all of our Heartland partners.

Keep in mind we are already recruiting hosts and sponsors for the 2020 program! Drop us a line if you'd like to be included in this exciting endeavor.

Learn more about the program on the LCS Fellowship Page.

Let's Continue Paying It Forward!
