The Steel Valley Authority (SVA) is seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Outreach Coordinator to join our Heartland Capital Strategies (HCS) program on a part-time, contract basis. HCS focuses on advancing responsible investments, revitalizing America’s communities, and promoting sustainable initiatives.


In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and implementing outreach strategies to connect with our key stakeholders, raise awareness about our mission, and build support for our initiatives including the Labor Capital Strategies Fellowship with Georgetown University.


Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling written and verbal communication materials (e.g., presentations, website content, marketing materials) to effectively communicate the HCS mission and programs.

  • Develop, implement, and track comprehensive outreach plans utilizing various channels, including social media, blogs, email marketing, events, workshops, and community presentations.

  • Coordinate meetings, presentations, and events (locally and nationally) and manage corresponding travel arrangements.

  • Manage & maintain professional relationships with varied audiences from company executives to college students.

  • Manage the HCS database of partners, hosts, universities, alumni, and other relevant parties.

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential partners, labor projects, unions, and financial beneficiaries. This will include ongoing tracking of partner activities.

  • Organize and coordinate annual fundraising campaigns.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in outreach or community engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful outreach strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders from college students to corporate executives.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.


Compensation and Benefits:

This part-time/contracted position is currently funded through December 31, 2024 with an option of renewal based on fund availability. The position will work approximately 30-hours per week (depending on workload) with a pay range of $30-35/hour, based on experience. We offer a flexible work schedule with the possibility of remote work (to be discussed during the interview process).
