The 2025 LCS Fellowship launched with a dynamic two-day orientation in Washington, DC, bringing together this year’s cohort for an in-depth introduction to the world of responsible investing, labor advocacy, and social impact finance.

Day One focused on the foundations of responsible investing, the history of the labor movement, and the basics of pension fund finance. Fellows heard from experts at Heartland, Georgetown’s Kalmanovitz Initiative, AFL-CIO HIT, and Segal Marco. They also connected with alumni board members during a professional development panel and finished the evening with a mixer.

Day Two provided insider perspectives from union and industry leaders at Ullico, LIUNA, and the AFL-CIO Office of Investment. Fellows explored topics like pension governance, industrial policy, and capital flow strategies while building relationships with key stakeholders across the labor-finance ecosystem.
We want to thank everyone who participated in this program and continues to make this a fantastic learning experience for these future capital stewards.
Follow along for more updates on the fellowship and the amazing 2025 cohort!
